If you want to catch little fish, you can stay in the shallow water. But if you want to catch the big fish, you've got to go deeper. Down deep, the fish are more powerful and more pure. They're huge and abstract. And they're very beautiful" – David Lynch
David Lynch – the extraordinary artist surveyed in GOMA's exhibition 'David Lynch: Between Two Worlds' and the critically acclaimed director of The Elephant Man 1980, Blue Velvet 1986, Wild at Heart 1990, Mulholland Drive 2001 and the television series Twin Peaks 1990-91 – makes a rare public appearance in Brisbane on Saturday 14 March 2015.
In this exclusive to Brisbane in conversation with special guest David Stratton, David will share insight into his life, his work and his many passions – painting, film, music and meditation. This discussion on harnessing the power of ideas draws on his celebrated book about meditation and the creative process, Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity (2006).
This exclusive in conversation event is part of the 'David Lynch: Between Two Worlds' exhibition at GOMA.
This initiative is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
