DIGITAL BETACAM, COLOUR, DOLBY, 110 MINUTES, JAPAN/USA, JAPANESE/ENGLISH (ENGLISH SUBTITLES) / DIRECTOR: YOSHIHIRO NISHIMURA

‘Eihi stars as the emotionally scarred police officer Ruka, sent to rid the streets of criminals using whatever means necessary – most of which involve ultra-violence. When a shadowy figure called the key Man begins sending mutants around town to wreak havoc, Ruka is sent on the case, which may have something to do with the gory death of her father. A blood concoction of Raimi, Cronenberg, Miike, Fulci, and Tsukamoto, Nishimura Yoshihiro’s Tokyo Gore Police is riddled with bizarre imagery, eye-popping set pieces, and lots and lots of blood and innards. Utter insanity. You have been warned.’ Brisbane International Film Festival
